About the role

The Key Purpose of this role is to provide a service to the Modern Trade channel by being the single point of contact, to implement strategic actions through servicing these customers on an ongoing basis, to ensure that we grow the long alcoholic drinks market share for ABI whilst growing profitable volumes for the customer with a strong through the line approach.

What you'll do:

  • Development of critical management skills in the Modern Trade Channel.
  • Ongoing management of, and communication with, group account customers.
  • Identify drivers of growth relevant to Modern Trade.
  • Achieve volume and market share goals as per specific chains' KPIs.
  • Develop and implement customer-specific business programs and account plans.
  • Align with channel strategy, focusing on Self-Service and Wholesale segments, with a strong understanding of channel operations and key account stores.
  • Strong regional integration is needed to succeed in this role, along with central negotiations and the sales team’s execution capability.
  • Provide expert advice and support to the Modern Trade and Trade Marketing teams.
  • Integrate with Field Sales Teams in a coaching/mentoring role to grow our share of liquor in Modern Trade Channel outlets.
  • Ensure that account plans are implemented in alignment with the national Modern Trade Channel strategy.
  • The role may involve project work aimed at building and developing skills for application within the Modern Trade Channel.

What we're looking for:

  • 5+ years of working experience in the same field (Sales/Marketing).
  • A minimum of a BA or MA in a related field.
  • Operationally strong, with a proven track record in the Modern Trade Channel sales environment within ABI.
  • High computer literacy, especially in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Systems literacy, including MS Office and Power BI.
  • Analytical skills and the ability to derive insights from data.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a process-driven and customer-service-oriented approach.
  • Strong negotiation capability, with a focus on win-win outcomes and share growth.

  • Solid product knowledge and collaboration capability within ABI and with customers.
  • Ability to conceptualize and see the big picture.
  • A customer service mentality with a strong bias toward tactical opportunities, while also being able to think strategically and build long-term plans.
